What is manufacturing?

The manufacturing industry transforms raw materials into new products.

New entrants can look forward to being part of this high-performing industry of 192,000 Queenslanders, working in fields as diverse as helicopter construction to surfboard manufacturing.

The industry creates products like locomotives and railcars, boats, surfboards, aircraft components, truck chassis, electronic surveillance systems, health supplements, vaccines for diseases and food items like high-volume processed foods, additives, dairy and meat.

In today's world, manufacturing is high-tech and requires a high level of skill.

Getting qualified will put you on your way to a challenging, varied and rewarding career.

The industry is huge in Queensland, and is expected to grow.

This means a career in manufacturing will give you a good job now, and a great lifestyle in the future.

Everything we buy is made - why not be part of making it in Queensland?
