Pre-vocational study

TAFE and other registered training organisations offer Certificate level pre-vocational programs in many manufacturing career fields.

These programs allow you to gain skills and knowledge that will be immediately useful to an employer.

Pre-vocational Certificates are nationally recognised qualifications and are often applicable to a number of career fields.

They are generally aimed at helping you get an apprenticeship or traineeship, because the skills and knowledge associated with holding a Certificate make you more attractive to employers.

Also, completing a pre-vocational course often gains you credit towards an apprenticeship, traineeship or university course.

Visit TAFE Queensland to see what pre-vocational courses are available, and Pathways to University Getting credit for your TAFE study to see the level of credit various TAFE courses give you towards a degree at university.

MINI PROFILE:
"My favourite subjects at school were Metal Technogies and Graphics- they were a terrific foundation for my apprenticeship in heavy fabrication." Bo Rogers - Boilermaking apprentice.
